…and then there comes a day when you no longer want to prove anything.
You wake up and feel that the world is not against you. You feel that the ground beneath your feet no longer demands a fight, the air no longer irritates you, and for the first time in a long while, your heart is no longer a battlefield.
This is the moment after the death of the old self, when life returns to the body. To the eyes that can once again see beauty. To the ears that hear the birds as if they were singing for this one moment alone. To the hands that no longer clench around what is leaving.
Harmony is not a reward for suffering. It is a reminder that beneath all the pain, there was always a source. Quiet, patient, alive. It waited until you stopped searching for home in someone else’s eyes and found it within yourself.
Here, everything begins to breathe together. Light and shadow, fire and water, ending and beginning, earth and sky. Nothing needs to prevail, because nothing is separate anymore. Even what once caused pain returns as part of a greater order, because everything endures for as long as we ourselves choose to hold on to it.
Perhaps an entire life really is just one day. One gift from morning until night. One chance to see a beautiful view, hear the birds, thank God, forgive someone, accept yourself, and take the first step toward a new home.
And perhaps it is only then that a person understands that abundance does not begin when they have everything. It begins when they stop being hungry for themselves.
